No offense intended. I know it is an accepted method to bend the arm to get the shock off. I just (inherently) did not like the potential consequences.
No offense taken. My skin is about as thick as an old leather saddle I have learned a lot from this forum over the years, some good and some “what the heck are you thinking”. You have to learn to sift through all of it.

The axles are a snug fit between the frame. The axle bolts can be a real chore to get loose if you have an older trailer. Some trailers are built a bit different than others. My 89 29' had the gray/black water tank pan in the way and you had to trim some of it out of the way to drop the axle. How easy the axles come out is really trailer dependent.
