1982 front air bag replacement

howdy folks,

as a new owner i am working away at getting my '82 310 turbo diesel road ready and safe to go. i am currently looking for replacement air bags for the front end suspension. ive read and read on the forum here and due to my lack of knowledge on how to correctly navigate this site i havent been able to find a brand or supplier for these bags. sooooo if one or more of you kind people could point me in the right direction i would sincerely appreciate it. how quickly ive become addicted to my new airstream. my gosh now i understand the passion ive heard about for years. what a blast to own this beautiful vehicle. so anyway, i need a part number and supplier for front airbags for a 1982, 310 turbo diesel.

also, the rear airbags look like they are nearly new and so does the compressor. however, i need an inline check valve since im getting some bleed back through the compressor. if anyone can point me towards a supplier for that also i would so appreciate the info. thanks in advance folks. you all seem so helpful, i hope in the future i can be of service to others on this site.

I would also love to have this information, i haven't yet gotten the chance to stretch my "new to me" '83 280's legs yet but my front bags are all torn up and the rears will most likely need something.

This is the air bag kit you need. 4100 Firestone Coil-Rite Front Air Spring Kit for Coil Spring Suspensions - TruckSpring.com

To install remove the valve so you can squeeze the air out of the bags and then twist like you are wringing out a towel. Coat with some liquid soap and start into the hole in the A frame under the spring and "screw" up into the spring. They actually go in pretty easy.

Good luck.

This job took 8 hours at a shop done by guys who do this for a living! It was VERY difficult to remove the originals and they had to cut them out with a box cutter! I was going to tackle myself and in retrospect glad I chose not too. $140 to replace both. Not a bad deal at all.....

The rear bags dont rest INSIDE the coil spring, thats the challenge with the front bags. Its not that difficult, just takes some patience and a little ingenuity thats all.
