Working with Rockwool insulation

Hello all. I plan to take the advice from some of you to try and use Rockwool insulation. Regarding working with this material, I have a few questions.

1. I'm noticing that Rockwool insulation is sold in rigid "boards". Is this what everyone is using for their projects, or do they sell non-rigid ones that everyone is using?

2. I'm noticing this product is sold in 2" thicknesses. Is this the thickness that everyone is using? I did not note any 1.5" thicknesses for sale.

You can get the rockwool in batts, I used that in my house. You can also get dual density which we used in commercial roofing applications.

Using the stiffer board product might create a challenge if it’s too thick and prevents the skin from getting too close to the ribs for riveting.

My curiosity piqued, I looked-up rockwool.

It is similar to asbestos, so if I decide to use it, I will be using an asbestos-targeted mask and filter set as well as asbestos-handling methods.

I used Havelock wool in 2 inch thick. I'm very satisfied with the results.

Have a look at this link. It describes rockwool as safe and if inhaled the body can deal with it just like household dust. Asbestos doesn't do that, it just hangs in there and we know what happens after that.

Ill definitely keep that in mind and wear the appropriate respirator and keep the area sealed off during install. Thank you for your responses.
