What spray sealant are you using?

I bought this product a few months ago to try on something around the house but it wasn't what I needed. I then came across a plastic bucket with a split in it and decided to see if it would seal.

It did seal it but after a few months, the "Leak seal" became brittle and started breaking away. I don't think plastic provides the best bonding surface for this product BUT, I also wouldn't think this "supposed" flexible rubber coating would become brittle either.

In the near future I will be using a spray sealant on my interior rivets, seams,etc before adding new insulation and reattaching the interior skin.

What product have forum users had the best luck with?

I would not use the stuff. I have never had much luck with Rustoleum paint either.

Flexseal (that stuff sold on TV) looks similar to the Rustoleum product you used. It was discussed at the Vintage Trailer Academy last week in response to a question about using it on the interior of a stripped trailer to seal it. The answer from an expert was it is not durable enough and fails in a very short time. We used Parbond on our seams inside before we insulated. I haven't heard of any spray sealant that works. None was suggested at VTA, either.

I used Sika-Flex...I put on a bead and fingered it.

You can use the Trempro-635 or any good sealant but you need to get all the old goop off first.
