Type of wood
Which is better to use bcx or cdx wood? And would lauan wood work inside since it's lightweight?

Get SPF plywood. I has better resistance to ultraviolet.

Wanting to use it for interior builds. Could possibly need to rebuild the walls between each room. Depending on the shape of the originals with any H2O damage. I don't want to increase the weight if I can avoid it, I would rather decrease.
