Shower Door Replacement
Ok I've had it with the glass shower door that came with my 28' CCD in 3005. It fell off on way to Oregon for the eclipse. Original loose screws in the frame allowed it to vibrate and bend the pivots leading to failure.
So now I'm looking at options:
OEM door - just add extra grame screwes and plastic shims per other threads to prevent vibration.
Get 22-inch hinged door from HD. That's been tried...
Shower curtain - I think are lame and let water escape when improperly closed
I did a search on YouTube and found the Nautilus sliding shower screen. Searched on the forum and now an add for it comes up every page. (But no threads...)
I think I'm sold on the Nautilus screen.
Has anybody done the glass door replacement with the 36inch screen?
It's all easily repairable, I had to replace a couple of bent screws. Then use a shim like the one in this photo. I haven't had a problem since. The shim is at the bottom of the door, the photo came up sideways.
Our 2002 19' Bambi came with a Shub shower screen (http://www.newlinebathroom.com/shub---rv-c-1.html) essentially identical to the Stoett - Nautilus door A W Warn mentions. I have had to recaulk around it, but the door itself has always worked wonderfully and still rolls away like the day it was new. We use our shower a lot so the door has had plenty of opportunity to fail.
[QUOTE=A W Warn; Even though the glass/aluminum shower door is prettier and more substantial, I think I like the screen that self cleans and disappears better.[/QUOTE]
