Sedona in December

We are thinking of spending the last 2 weeks of December in Sedona on the way to Palm Springs in January. Has anyone spent anytime around there at that time of year?

Not spent time there in winter in a trailer.

Can be quite cold but if you get a light snow the red rock is particularly beautuful with a white dusting.

Hi

Assuming the trailer is an Airstream, you will need to watch the long term weather forecast. If it is hitting sub freezing every night (as it may be), water systems in the trailer will require protection. That may make the trailer a bit less useful than it would otherwise be. It also could be mid 30's each night and you would be fine, provided you have shore power (or a lot of LP).

Sedona has a neighborhood that goes all out for Christmas displays. This was 20yrs ago. Maybe Google to see if they still do this.

I assume you will be coming from the Phoenix area going up hwy. 17 as you climb you will be able to make the final decision to keep going or turn around due to weather conditions.

Of course keep check on the weather forecasts .

Me, I would stay out of the mountains in December.

We were in Williams, AZ in JUNE when a cold snap came in. I had to wrap the water hose with foam pipe insulation to keep the hose from freezing. My neighbor didn't and his hose froze . It took a lot to get the ice out and the water flowing.

Part of camping in the winter I'd realizing you can't leave the city water hose connected. Use the on board tank.
If you have AC Power you can use space heaters. But be aware! You need the furnace to keep tanks and other areas warm.
