replacing plastic overhead fixtures

Is there a more stylish alternative available for replacing the plastic vent -light original equipment covers on a 70's Sovereign? Maybe something sleek and chrome?

You really need two narrow fixtures to leave the center vent open. two florescent bulbs are possible or a string of leds on each side.

There are photos of the lights I used last weekend in combination with a Fantastic Fan installation in post 927 here http://www.airforums.com/forums/f314...-32395-67.html. I am very pleased with them.

For cheap, you can get new lenses, and guess what: they're white when they're new, not the faded yellow

By the way, are you painting your ceiling?

That is how the ceiling was when we got it. Actually, we're redoing the walls and ceiling in mahogany veneer, the ceiling was repainted several times by previous owners. We would like to do something really sleek and sexy and up to date with the fixtures, but where do you get the new white plastic ones? That may be a good enough solution.

light fixture replacement

Try Andy or any other Airstream parts supplier. Actually I got mine off ebay a few years ago. Price is reasonable wherever you purchase, and they are authentic. Plus, you can use these when dry camping. Other fixtures may not be compatible with your marine battery power.

Out of Doors Mart has the new lenses, you need to order new handles also, the new ones are just a tad different, and you need that for clearance. Dave
