Rebuilding inside wood walls and shelves

I have a 26' Argosy 1976. The whole interoir structure where the cabinets storage shelves and closet have come apart or rotted. What type of wood do I need to rebuild walls and shelves? I need something thin to put in channel. Plus, I don't want to add any weight. Thin strong plywood would be my guess. What type?3

Depends a lot on your budget, but Baltic Birch is a good option for good quality thin plywood. It's made of multiple very thin layers rather than just a few thicker ones. Where regular plywood 1/4" thick might have only 3 layers, Baltic Birch might have 5-7 depending on the quality. This is the same stuff lots of furniture was made out of at one time, like the chair backs we all sat on in school in the days before plastic was used.

Lumber core Baltic, or Russian Birch, is great for sanding and sealing. We used all Baltic in our 55, mainly because that’s what was originally used. All our cabinet face frames are Birch lumber and the field and doors are the plywood. Good luck
