Hi - working on an '81 Excella II - 27' twin, rear bath. Nice coach, bought it in good shape, just not my taste inside. I have stripped it completely, down to the interior skin. (New subfloor, new floor complete.) I do not want to remove the interior - just want to paint before new or spruced up cabinetry, bed, new appliances, and gaucho are put back in.
My walls seem to be a wallpaper type finish that have been partially painted by PO - I cannot tell if there is actually aluminum under there or if this when there was a different interior wall product being used.
Right now, the paint is chipping a little, but the "wallpaper" parts left unpainted are sticky to the touch and dirty.
Questions:
1. How to clean and prep the two surfaces - paint and sticky wallpaper - for repainting.
2. What do I use to seal holes left from rivets, and screws used for art, electronics, and blinds?
3. What paint is best for this job? Just want a clean creamy blank-canvas finish.
4. Would wallpaper be better?
Any help would be so appreciated. Thankyou .
