original

Floors look original....they would be asbestos. If its painted its not original. Lets see more pics....looks good.

Actually, in 1962 the walls were painted with Zolatone. Shari has her wonderful Vintage Airstream Features guide that tells all. Those are definitely original floor tiles, especially if they measure 9"x9" - that means they ARE asbestos and aren't made anymore.

Mattress sources

If you search for "mattress" and "custom" and manufacture" you should find several threads for mattress sources. Camping World sells one that is close to that size.. Trailer Life magazine and Good Sam magazine feature ads from companies that make mattresses to order for RV's.. Shipping can be pricey, so finding local source is better than far awy factory...

Also interesting discussions about foam types, and use of Sleep Number mattresses or foam Tempur-pedic type mattresses... Any mattress can have a 1" or 2" memory foam "topper" added to make it softer, and those can be found online for ~ $60 in single/twin sizes ....
