Lounge / Bed ideas?

I am planning on building a u-shaped lounge in the front of my 1979 23' Safari. I would like it to convert it to a bed. I plan on building a bench with upholstered cushions and having a table in the middle. The table will drop and make a large bed.

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to support the table when it is in the lowered (bed) position?

Why not use the same method often used for drop down dinette tables? Just wooden cleats secured to the three sides of the lounge, maybe one inch or so.
