Looking for advice on interior skin of 74 Safari

Hi,
so I have a 74 safari which has the original vinyl stuff on the inside walls (along with everything else original). I'm wondering a couple of things here:

1- is there aluminum under that vinyl? If so I'm assuming I can remove said vinyl crap-ola by stripping it and mirror shine those panels... am I way off here?

2- if there is not aluminum under that stuff and I want to remove (the panels) completely and replace it with veneered wood is there any structural issues to look out for, i.e is that inside skin structural at all?

Thanks!
Eric

Eric...am just about finished with the remodel of our "78" Ambassador and had the same questions. The interior walls will be aluminum. Our trailer had the vinyl on the interior skin as well as the bulkhead walls. I peeled it off in sheets on the bulkhead walls but did not feel like stripping the entire interior shell. In our case we primed and painted the vinyl and it came out nice. Not sure even what stripper to use on the vinyl. Search the forums and I'm sure you'll find your answers. Good luck!

Thanks Bob!
My plan was just to shine up the forward walls as well. Then to use birch or birdseye maple veneer behind that, so that's perfect!
Cheers,
Eric
