Kitchen faucet replacement?
I've used the search feature, but have not found the info we need. While dewinterizing our Airstream, we broke the kitchen faucet. We can get a standard rv replacement faucet, but I didn't like the original to begin with. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement faucet from somewhere like Lowes or HDepot that would fit our trailer sink but be a taller unit, easier to put pots under and that has the detachable spray head? I'm not even sure what I'm describing makes "faucet" sense! Thanks for any leads. ~G

Any standard kitchen faucet should fit, the only issue is the spread (the distance between the hot and cold supply lines). Find one you like at the local big box store.

Not sure I understand your question, but I don't see why you can't pick whatever faucet you like. To my mind, RV faucets are no different than home faucets.

Yup. I just happened to do a little research last night about the faucet that came in our 2008 International. It's a standard kitchen faucet. And I was surprised to learn that its retail price is $400+. That's one thing they didn't skimp on. (I just wish it pivoted. It's a pullout, but the stem doesn't move).

We replaced ours with this one from Home Depot and could not be happier with it. (Well, I guess I'd be happier if it had cost less, but it's very nice.) It now pivots (without me forcing it to pivot, as I occasionally did with the old one) and has a pullout, with stream and spray and pause buttons.
p.s. If anyone has a good recommendation for a shower faucet replacement, let me know. The pause function on ours has stopped working efficiently (maybe it's just a filter thing that can be replaced?)

We completely remodeled the kitchen of our '74 Overlander last winter. We selected a single-hole pull-out faucet with switchable stream or spray. Some seem surprised that the spray function works well in an RV (low pressure), but ours works fine whether on water supply or on the pump. I've attached the best picture I have of the faucet...I never really highlighted the faucet in any of the photos. We love the compactness yet full function of it. It's great to have the spray and pull-out function. It saves a lot of water so when on boondocking / limited hookups it lessens the frequency of dumping the gray tank and filling the fresh.

Idomela, I forced ours to pivot, too, because I didn't realize it wasn't supposed to at first!
We got an Oxygenics shower head based on the many glowing reviews around here. It's not the prettiest design (it's not terrible either), but the water efficiency is a big boon.
Winestream, your counters look lovely.
For those with the Elkay faucet that comes in the Newer Internationals, replacing the aerator with one that creates higher pressure (by allowing less water through) makes a big difference.

KerriO: haha yeah, and Kevin had to keep tightening it. What the heck though with no pivot?
Thanks for the tip on the shower head...we will check it out!

Hm. Didnt know about the no pivot thing. We're about a month away from getting our 2012 international. I love the large sink and guess I missed the faucet, I thought it was a little modern for me but that's it. I doubt I will like it now. Never had a faucet that didn't pivot.

I think that Lowe's has the best design in faucets at a reasonable price.

Georgia, I went online to Amazon and purchased a Kohler faucet that fit my Airstream perfectly. I purchased a high arch with a pull down spray so that I could more easily fill pots and rinse dishes. The Kohler spray feature stays engaged even in low water pressure systems. My original faucet never did. I wish that I could send a picture, but I have yet to figure out how to upload pictures into these threads. Best of luck, Mike.

I'm replacing my 1979 kitchen faucet and not replacing the stainless sink. I've bought two "standard" kitchen faucets and THEY WON'T WORK. The hole and space for the faucet is too small for a standard faucet. Does anybody know the Moen replacement faucet number that will work with a 1979 sink?

also needing to replace faucet
We have run into the same issue on our 98 Excella. The faucet is leaking at the main base and the pull out sprayer/faucet has micro cracks so water sprays out in fine sprays when you turn it on. We also have a Moen but the ones we have looked at will not fit. We tried replacing only the spray head but then noticed the leak where it joins the plate. I hope someone has information that will help us.

On a realted note, is is easy to replace just the pulldown spray hose? Just unscrew from both ends then thread it back down and reattach? Thanks.

I used a Koehler “Simplice” kitchen faucet. It fit perfectly and was a simple installation. It was some years ago, but I believe that I purchased it from Lowe’s. It has all the features that you describe in your post. Mike.
