Iowa Boys Restoration

Have you seen this beautiful 2000 34' with slideout (Classic, I think) that was done by Iowa Boys here in California?

Propane fireplace with remote control, new cabinet doors & hardware, new flooring, new stainless steel countertop, new cabinets on either side of fireplace, queen-size bed platform with drawers below, Bose stereo system, plasma television on electric lift, satellite dome with gps tracking.

And if this is your beautiful baby, please let us know how you like it! How much extra weight (if any) did the modifications create?

They do some nice work but looking at the pictures it really looks like their cabinets are built like you would for a normal home (Read HEAVY). Looks like 3/4 finsh gread ply for the cabinets. If it is then they are adding a easy 1,000lb to the above coach. It's at Max GVWR before putting in your personal gear.

Cabinets

Toaster:
No, I think those raised panel cabinets are made out of that new woodfoam. Weigh about 8 oz. Like the other stuff they use in hollywood for props.
I was watching one of the old "In Like Flint" movies a month ago, where he is escaping the burning underground lair of the evil women. One of his 'girls' took a direct hit on the head by a boulder the size of a refrigerator. She didn't even slow down.

ALANSD -- yup, those are stainless steel countertops!

All kidding aside, I am curious how much weight has been added to the overall weight of the trailer. And you guys do make a point, maybe this trailer was redone to be a bit more stationary than a travelling one.

The grade of stainless probably used on those countertops is around 3lbs per square foot. Without a doubt, they are resting on at least a 1/2" thick surface underneath. Overall, I'd say they add quite a bit of weight to that trailer.

I like the look, but then again, I am modernizing my trailer. I do love wood, but prefer lighter finishes. Must be a Florida thing.
