Interior upholstery and drapes

One of my winter projects is to do the upholstery work. I am shooting for overall "restore" but will likely end up with "refurbish" while I hunt down parts. My question is what colors were common in the 1966 models for the gauchos and drapes? Our coach has a blue/green in the gauchos and I have seen an orange on vintageairstreams. But what color were the drapes? I have a magazine article which shows a light color with darker trim at the bottom. Anyone else have any references? Thanks in advance for any resources and help you may offer. LJ

Look at the pictures at the RJ's vintageairstream.com site to look at lots of interior photos - hopefully that will help.

Are you doing this yourself? I would be interested in seeing how you do it and pictures, pictures pictures

You can also download some brochures on the vintage site, airstream.net, and that might help. Most of the pictures I've seen of vintage Caravels had an ugly brown tweed - yuk - I certainly wouldn't try to replicate it. You might want to just pick something tasteful you'll enjoy.

I bought my '67 with original fabrics and it had the blue/ green gauchos. The curtains were a lighter green with a silver grey backing. I'd be happy to send you a fabric swatch of each ( or photos).
I'm re-doing my gauchos in a tan 'ultrasuede' which looks very nice against the orig. woodwork. Curtain fabric ? Haven't got that far yet!
