Floorplan help
While visitng my wife's uncle in S.D. in July 06 I noticed he had a airstream in his back lot, after talking about it he said it needed alot of interior work but it was our's to have. The outside is in decent shape but the interior looks pretty beat up probably a 70 to 80% rebuild. Whoever had it before him removed alot of the interior.I got the serial number I22t6j**** and from what I can figure out that means it is a International 22' with a rear bathroom is that correct? Also I have been trying to get a floorplan for this or at least see some pictures of one but I can't find anything on this.

Do you know the approximate year? How about the number of panels on the end caps? Any pictures you can post? What do the windows look like (round vs square corners or frameless)? what about the rest of the VIN number? Any other clues?
All these could help ID the model...

The complete serial number I wrote down was I22T6J3658 and the windows are round. I will be going back up in August to bring it home.

gpowell40,
I have access to a 1976 manual...what are you looking for specifically? The serial number you provided says it is a 22 foot International, mid twins built in Ohio. Let me know what you need scanned an I can email them to you.

If I could just get a look of the layout of the interior that would be great and if you happen to know where I can buy the manual I would appreciate that also.

Is it an Argosy (painted) or is it Aluminum . . . or do you already own a 22' Argosy?

Ask and ye shall receive!
Here is a copy of the floor plan. They don't list a 22 for 1976 just a 21 or a 23.
Aaron
Edit: I didn't realize you had an Argy. The floor plan is out of the AS manual for that year. But it still should be similar.

It is Aluminum I guess when I was signing up I cliked to fast. When I copied down the info I had to write it on the back of a business card in my hand so it is possiable the 22 is really a 21. I will have to give him a call to check. Oh yeah buy the way we got it at the best price of free but I think that after trying to get it back into a state that we can use it I will spend plenty.

Is it possible that it's "I25T6J3658"?
The vintage airstream site shows serial numbers for a 25' 1976 Caravaner that are pretty close to yours?
Sounds like a fun project, post pictures when you get it.
Good Luck, MarkR

Gpowel,
How many axles? IIRC 21' of that era are single if it has two it is 23' or longer. IIRC 1975 was the last year of the 23' single.

Manuals are also available from the Airstream Store These are high quality reprints. And they currently list a Service manual for the 1976 model year.

It has two axles on it. I pulled the serial number off of the front and it was a little dirty so I used the old meathod of a little spit and finger rubbing to get the number. Once I get it home I will get some pictures posted and I will then probably get the response of better you than me.

I will try to wxplain the interior as best I can but I could tell it was gutted to a certain extent. In the back is the bathroom with the shower on the passenger side and the sink on the back wall. I can't remember for sure what side the toliet was on. Forward from that was what I called a futon with a bunk bed above that on the passanger side across from that was nothing. Forward of that was the kitchen. The sink and stove/burners were on the passenger side and a closet space and the fridge are on the driver side. Forward of that has been totally gutted of any furniture.
