The door on our 79 Excella 500 is brown and looks like phenolic? I assume that it originally had a vinyl covering bonded to it, am I correct? If so what are your thought to paint or recover?

Hi, Dan,

The inside door on my 79 has the same textured vinyl covering that makes up the rest of the interior skin.

I'm trying to imagine what could be done to it to make it look like phenolic. I guess I'm just not that imaginative.

Have you tried gently prying at a corner to see if maybe it's just old wall cladding?

It looks like the underlayment of what once was probably covered. If it did have an original covering to match the walls I wonder if there is any still available?
