Custom made Airstream Curtains

Hello all,

It's been quite a long time since we have been on here. We have made many sets for many people on the air forums in the past. We got very overwhelmed by the many orders back then and stopped making them for while. We are now available to make a limited number of curtains. Just let us know what you need!

Thanks,

John and Tammy Adams

That is a cool service to provide, with a nice niche market!

Awesome!

Say, Yes, to curtains....

As one who is still not the third iteration of curtains for my AS, I think this is a great idea.

Tammy made the curtains in our trailer, and are still holding up well, and looking good, since 2007.

Hi John & Tammy! I clicked on your silver thread curtains link and it said “this site is frozen”... It’s not that cold in Tennessee yet, is it?

Well... It's already too cold for me! We had shut the website down a while back and are currently working in getting it restored. We do have a Facebook page for now though.

Thanks

Question question regarding curtains

I note that Our Airstream, and most Airstreams have curtains that are attached top and bottom on the rails around the curved windows. We are going to redo our interior seats, curtains, and other cloth areas as well as the floor. Is there any "real" reason why the curtains need to be anchored on the top and bottom? We were thinking of hanging them with only the top- (which appears to be the case in the video) connected. We thought we would use the "extra" rails obtained from the bottom to extend the slide so the curtains came completely off the window. We already mounted a pull shade over the storage area behind our main couch so that we can close off the view without closing the curtains.
Back to my primary question, is there a reason to mount the curtains top and bottom? There certainly is no wind coming in to blow them around. I think it may be a hangover from the early windows that did allow wind into the cabin.

The sides of the Airstream are curved so the bottom rail holds the curtain snug to the wall.

It depends entirely upon what you prefer. You do not need them to be attached at the bottom, many of the older Airtreams did not have a bottom rail. We have actually made many sets that have just hung loose at the bottom.

Hello, Are you still doing Airstream curtains? We live near Cookeville, Tennessee, and recently bought a 1976 31 Sovereign. The curtains in it are awful, and I'd like something more original-looking. Feel free to send me an email at krmtrains(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!
