Cambered doors

All my overhead cambered doors in my kitchen have fallen apart should I spend the time rebuilding the cambered doors or install custom solid doors that swing up on a piano hinge and gas shock

I think you are talking about tambor roll up doors. It is expensive to replace them so you might be better to come up with an different door. The swing up door sounds like the way to go.

Me thinks tambour also. You can rebuild them on the cheap, but it is labor intensive. Let me know if you want to know what I did. The tambour doors that always seem to cause problems are the bigger ones that open from left to right under the galley, credenza and lavarette. There is more of a case for replacing those with solid doors.

I love the look of the original tambour doors, but I secretly wish I had regular doors. Don't tell my girlfriend.

The under sink and stove doors are absolutely the worst. At least they don't randomly fall and slam on your fingers...

Cheat! Glue the tambour to a regular door face.

Clever idea! But I am basically done with this restoration. I will keep that in mind for the next one...

I build cabinets in my spare time and built new base cabinets that will have solid doors when I finish but for hanging reasons I kept the original uppers and want to try to keep some of the original look with my new modern look

There are lots of folks on here who are gutting trailers or remodeling that may have some tambor doors for your cabinets.

The previous and only other owner cooked with a lot of greasy food lol so the walls were pretty sticky and greasy after gutting the entire trailer and scrubbing the walls with spray nine then pine sol the walls came spotless, The spray nine was the key to disinfecting the trailer had spme mice in it when i bought it. I then painted the walls with Behr marquee exterior paint that adheres to vinyl it worked very good needed two coats but seems to be very durable.

Just a odd question not sure where to post it. Do u by chance know how to pull the cabnets on a 69 streamline without damaging the inner wall?

There does not seem to be anyone else asking this kind of thing.

You just have to look at it meticulously and one screw at a time ant there are lots of them trust me. You can save a little time if you are not salvaging the cupboards
