I'm pondering adding a semi-permanent bunk (meaning non-stowing up like those in the images as I have luggage overheads) bunk like these below in my 1969 Sovereign
Q#1 - I guess it looks easy enough to fabricate, but wondering if anyone has any concerns about the end walls of an AS being able to support the bed frame? Are these images from a trailer with a more solid wall? It looks like it is just a few screws into that support bar which holds the whole frame on each side? Anyone else try making their own like this? I think this will be easier than the hanging aluminum frame option. I can leave it in this configuration 24/7 so not worried about being stowable. I'm not too worried about how to make it, just if it will come crashing down...
Q#2 - anyone have this set-up that could give me a bit more detail regarding the width of the support bars, and maybe some photos? I'll make it up otherwise, but wouldn't mind doing it semi-factory-ish...
Any additional ideas/thoughts/tips from anyone about this? The lil fella going up there is only 35lbs... but I'm sure he'll get bigger as he gets older too.
Don't need him crashing down on me, who plans to sleep underneath him!
Thanks per usual!
