Anheuser Busch also built a Kampkar during prohibition

I saw one of these at a McDonalds in central Missiouri a couple years back. The man and women were driving cross country in it. They were from either Australia or New Zealand, I forget.

One of the strange things was that it did not have a passage seat, but a fold down bench that faced the driver.

It did have self contained water and kitchen with stove. The canvas sides flipped down and the benches inside layed flat for two single beds.

It was quite a site and I am sure quite an adventure for the couple.

(1.) Street side/front. Gaucho, sans arm rests, and recovered.

(2.) Front/center. My new Credenza with original Fold-out table.

(3.) Curb side/front. My new Love seat.

(4.) Airstream Foot Stool uncovered.

Very nice! Very clean lines.

Yes, the bunks fold up, too. They fold in half, and slide into the white brackets on the end walls. There is also a bunk on the other side.... they are square aluminum frames with the original canvas and thin mattresses. Both 'cots' were in great shape, just like brand new when we got the trailer about 3 years ago. They are very much like the old camp cots, except that they hang from the ceiling with cable wire, and hook into brackets on the wall. You can barely see the brackets in the pics. The overhead cabinets are also original to the trailer. Someone told us that the bunks were added afterwards, but someone else told us that the bunks were a special order in 59. We don't know for sure, but we like them.
