Bed shocks locked in upright position

When I lifted my bed up to get to the storage area the shocks locked and would not release the bed down. I had to take the shocks off in order to lower the bed. Has this happened to anyone? After taking the shocks off I put all my weight on them and they would not close. What to do? I have a early 2016 FC 27FB. If I replace the shocks, what should I replace them with?

You are under warranty. Call your dealer.

strut upgrade/fix

see post 29 for info.

Recommend working with dealer if at all possible, like Café said. If not close, have them send you parts. Our shaft bent on one, so we upgraded with heavier struts from Grainger. Pat

Here's another option if the dealer is far.
Take the shock off. Look at the number on the side.
Type that number into Amazon and see if it gives you a replacement.
It did for my gas struts. (cabinet doors)
