bathroom ideas

i am looking to completely gut my bathroom in my 68 30 ft airstream. its in the rear of the AS. I am 6' tall and the layout isnt working all that well with my height and width. The floor is rotten, so im gutting anyway. I have remodeled the rest of the AS, and its time to do the bathroom. I dont really like the lay out as is, iwas thinking of putting a drain in the middle of the floor and either making the floor stainless/aluminum or using the small 1" ceramic tile. Then installing a sink and the toile in more conveinent places. Has anyone on here done the same, if so please post a pic so i can get some ideas. Thank You Derek

I'm in the process of doing a bathroom renovation since the floor was rotten for about a foot back the tail end. I've replaced the floor and am now at the point of starting to rebuild everything. The thing about moving the bathroom fixtures around is that you have to be mindful of where the existing plumbing runs and what it would take to move it somewhere else. For example, the water heater sits on the road side of my trailer, moving it somewhere else would involve cutting a new hole and patching the old one as well as routing the water supply and gas supply. On the opposite side the hot and cold water runs forward to the kitchen as well as the sewer and vent lines. So my plan is to leave everything roughly in its same place and make new cabinetry and replace the tub with a shower base.

My current progress can be seen here:

Attached on this post is our photobucket for our gut and rebuild of our 1965 Tradewind. We turned the rear bath into a rear bed and put the bath where the goucho was. In this configuration I put a 25 gal black and 25 gal gray tanks in. Have fun with your project, we enjoyed the planning, execution, and now the use of the trailer. We completed it in April of 2011.
