alternative to plywood re-floor?

Tony, everything expands or contracts but based upon your comment it must must be minimal in the Coosa stabilized product. Based upon your comments if I ever need to replace my floor I will use Coosa. The piece of mind in knowing that moisture is no longer the huge potential disaster it is with plywood more than justifies the cost.
I think it is very very shortsighted of Airstream not to test this product and incorporate it in their entire line.
I regret that Airstream will just ignore my comments even though they are well intended and could result in a vastly improved product.

It is very minimal as the foam substance used to make it is quite inert.

I have stated often in conjuction with Coosa talk that piece of mind is priceless. Yes you can fix all the leaks you find.......only to find a leak a week later.

StevieB. Congrats on the 60+ year old good as new floor. Sadly, I do not think you represent the majority. As to your comment about you not being around when the floor does rot (because it will eventually)... I have pondered the idea of whether or not we should be good stewards of our Airstreams. I would guess most of us are not original owners of our "vintage" Airstream. I believe it is prudent to do the best we can to preserve these trailers not just for ourselves, but for future owners. So when we are no longer around, we do not become cursed for being the dreaded "PO". I don't know if Coosa is the greatest thing ever. But I do know wood is not.

Isususweet. I kid about the company rep. But you sure have convinced me.

Hmmm ...... I am almost 64, if I replace it with plywood and sealed the edges and top and bottom, and I maintain the trailer, .... it should last until I am at least 120 years old. Just an opinion .......

Woohoo!! Glad to know there's another original floor in great shape for the most part! Besides our rear bath floor and entryway floor, we were surprised to see it as well as the frame are in awesome condition. Ours is a 70 and we age our AS by 2-3 years more! Have you decided on a product for sealing the wood yet? May I ask what you choose and why?! Thank you, Dawn

Coosa is a great product made in the USA . It is used in watercraft. It comes in 4 by 8 sheets. It is lighter and stronger than plywood and will not ever rot.
Google Coosa. Costs more than plywood but you will never have to replace your subfloor again due to rot.
