I've always had an access problem with the large front external storage bay in my 27FB. The door being behind the propane tanks doesn't make utilizing the bay easy. Too bad, because it's the single largest storage bay in the trailer.
I've also chosen to mount my Honda eu2200i in the space between the propane tanks and trailer body which further reduces the utility of the bay.
Obvious solution to me is to create a door in the interior, between the twin beds. Plunge cut with a multi-tool freehand. No turning back.
As my model is an Ocean Breeze with with decorative laminate trim, I had to do some deep searching to get at a matching product for my new door. Here's midway into the process trim the edges.
I opted for 2x 2" flush pull hatch latch as the door will rest against them in the open position. A stainless piano hinge at the bottom.
Here's what the finished door looks like. It opens nice and wide. Finally I can use the space for those big bulky items like collapsing ladders, folding and camping chairs, and 5 gallon water tote.
