'73 IS Closet door latch / handle
H E L P I have replaced ( or attempted to ) replace the inside of door catch on the RR closet door. I believe I have the latch assembled correctly ( no instructions included from Inland R V ) and have attempted to pop rivet it back into the door as OE installed. Cannot get 1 to stay in place. Wrong pop rivet size ??????? In advance thanx JC

Still trying to assemble and install latch. Instructions anywhere ??? I bought some simple drawer knobs with 1 screw and had 2 small paqes of instructions. Replacement closet door latch of ~ 5 - 6 pieces. No instructions. ALSO there is a flat plastic piece included 2 holes in it would match the pop rivet locations + a small hole in the center H E L P
My repair manual also lack instructions for replacing the latch. I need to swap over and replace a few as well.
Was the latch apart prior to the repair?
The outer handle unscrewed without any problem, but, I cannot figure out how to remove the sliding catch from the inside of the door without breaking it off.
To the OP - are you riveting the latch face to the door? Mine are on there with screws - they are factory original - maybe something changed after 71?
Tom - if you have to take the black interior slide off (presume it's broken). Get a small thin putty knife - push the slide back to the "open" position and pry up between the base and the portion that slides. If it's already broken no need to be too careful - if not pry gently and you may be able to salvage the slide. They are a valuable part. Watch for the spring that will go flying. Once you have the top of the slide off you will be able to remove the base.
