30 bunk windows

Anyone out there aware of why Airstream chose to install the window size in the rear of the 30 bunk as they did? I feel as if they could have gone with a larger size. Longer windows on the passenger side and an all around larger emergency exit in the rear. Is it structural or cost?

There appears to be a frame member to the curb side of the window and of course the center wall on the other side restricting the window’s size.

Since the back of most late model Airstream trailers is pretty much the same (non-FB), and they do place a fairly large window in back on other rear bed models, adding to the fact that Airstream builds both the shell, ribs and windows, yea, they could put a bit bigger emerg window in the back of that unit. IIRC, the 30 bunkhouse streetside has 1 of the 3 windows that would be perfect and is slightly larger that would fit into that space as shown in the schematic.

The 30' bunk is based slightly on the 25C design, with modifications/changes, as such it can and did accommodate a window on the curb side rear that was *about* the same size as the window in back.

So my answer is yea, they shoulda, but didn't. Those side window curbside-- vista view type windows can't be opened, and IIRC, it's frowned upon to use the emerg window for ventilation, so that back area is kind of breeze-less.
