Weight of cargo...?

So, kinda lame question...the sticker on the door of our 27fb FC says that the "cargo" in the trailer shouldn't exceed 1337 pounds (and that a full tank of fresh water weighs about 323 pounds).
Does this mean we can put 1000 pounds in there? Or do we have to figure out how much the various furniture and appliances weigh and subtract that?

The furniture and appliances that came stock with the trailer would be part of the base weight, and not part of what you need to consider for the cargo that you load. Clothes, food, etc. that you load for a trip are all part of the cargo.

Okay, that's what we assumed. Doesn't really make sense otherwise, but thought I'd better confirm. Thanks!
