Vacation Home

Hi everyone!

My family has a home in Pasadena that my grandfather bought in 1930- it is a fantastic property. If we sold it my siblings and I would never have to worry about money again...BUT- we are all VERY ATTACHED to this home and will never sell it. I want to park an Airstream in the yard as my vacation home... I would buy new and park it on thick gravel in the back 40... The yard is quite large- 2 acres... I tell my siblings that if they want to keep the house I want my own little spot on the property! What do y'all think? It would be hooked up to the septic tank and have electricity etc... I feel like it would be glamping as the area I would park is gorgeous...

I live 2.5 hours away from this home...

Step one is to check the local zoning. Lots of counties/municipalities will take issue with a permanently parked trailer.

Step two is to get your co-owners (I assume siblings) to put it in writing that they have no issue with you doing this. Might have an attorney look at whatever agreement you come up with.

Money causes more family squabbles than all other issues combined...
