Teacher Looking for Year-Round Site

Hello Fellow Airstreamers!

I have been offered a job teaching in the Florida Keys, and as you might suspect, housing is an issue (and it's why there is a teacher shortage down there). I'm throwing this out there because ya just never know:

Does anyone have or know of a year-round available RV site (August 1st - May 31st?) Or, any good chunk of time?

I've called all the RV parks, and either they do not offer long-term spots, or they are already booked up. It's just my husband & I and our 2 30 lb English cocker spaniels.

If anyone knows of a possible rental (in the lower Keys as I'd be teaching at Key West High School), I'd be super grateful!
Many thanks!

Can't help you with the site, but as a retired teacher who hopes to one day visit the Florida Keys, wanted to offer up some good luck in your search!

StrmNugget,
Likewise, I wish you success in making this work. My retired econ teacher wife would look at the math (minimum $150/ night during snowbird season times 300 nights) as an explanation for why the conventional commercial sites aren't interested in hosting you. The state parks... their sites are basically on allocation year round. Even we Floridians can't figure out how to reliably get a site for a short stay.
You'll need to think outside the box. Maybe somebody at the district knows somebody who needs a shiny accessory for their pink flamingo collection. Just don't run afoul of zoning restrictions on lived-in trailers on private property (though everything is different in the Keys). And bring along some ground auger stakes and chain in case a big blow (or two) does materialize... Evacuating from the Keys with a trailer quickly becomes essentially impossible.
Good luck!
