Yuck! Not far off I'm afraid! Start planning for spring and it will bring a smile to your face! You need to put a wreath on your girl and it would be a great Christmas card!

She has been sitting out for the 6 years we have owned her. No problems so far...but then I am pretty particular about checking roof seals. Every now and then I'll go out, fire up the furnace, and put on a pot of fresh percolated coffee. And think of Spring!

Me too! I love Winter; it's the hot humid summer weather that gives me fits.

Ditto. Hate the humidity more than the heat, even.

We heard from a hunter a couple of months ago that the US is in for a hard winter this year.

He predicted this because the apple trees were heavily laden with many and large apples.

Talked with our friends in northern MN this afternoon, and they had snow yesterday and snow all day today.

We'll see. We're home and have plenty of firewood.

I agree, Maggie. We lived for 3 years in Florida and the humidity was the killer.

But humidity is so GOOD for you! Why bother breathing your air when you can drink it instead?!

Sigh. We just returned from the final outing for the year. Time to unpack and winterize.
I don't mind winter if I can sit inside and just look at the snow.

Hi Protagonist,

By your by-line I see that you have lots of experience with humidity! When I lived in Fla I was talking with my neighbor who was from N. Carolina and had lived in Fla for about 18 years. I said that he must have finally gotten to the point where he could deal with the humidity and he said it hadn't happened and was just waiting until he could retire back to the mtns. of N. Carolina.

I know I am in a distinct minority and that most people at my age and situation have become snow birds, but Iowa is as far south as I care to live at any time of the year. Horses for courses, as they say!

You don't have time to sit and look at snow. You have a beautiful Spartan to work on.

Hopefully we will see you at the Spring rally in April.

I hear you, Robert. We woke up to snow on the ground again this morning. Alas, we were never able to take the AS out this year (illness), so it's still winterized from last year.

Winter is Airstreaming time. In the Southwest that is. We'll be leaving in about a month.

Yes, John, Iowa is Paradise. We have short winters of only 6 mos., long springtimes up to 2 weeks, short hot humid summers of 5 mos. duration, and a couple of weeks of gorgeous fall. But, try to keep all these good things a secret. Otherwise all these wonderful people will start moving here, and then, there goes the neighborhood.

We are the same - Winter is the time our unit gets used.
In a week or so we will point our noses south and follow the warm weather south.
