General Campground Guides/Books/Sites
I don't full time but figure you all use the best travel/ campground guides, and know which are pretty accurate. I have always used AAA booklets and look on line as much as possible for travel ideas and suitable campgrounds along the way, but found it to be a hit or miss proposition, and mostly a miss.
I'm looking for a list your favorite Campground Guide sites to find the right campground or/and camping guides that I can look up campgrounds when I have no online service. I'll be stepping up to a 27' trailer shortly and want to do more planning before I travel.
Thanks in advance!!

We've looked at AAA (in part because we're listed there), and it's kind of thin. When we go on trips, we generally use either Woodalls or Trailer Life, though we lean toward Woodalls. The Woodalls folks tend to list more of the little campgrounds that we like to frequent; the Trailer Life people can be a smidgen snooty about little places.
But like many, we fiddle on the Internet in advance to check things out: General area guides, federal and state guides, campgroundreviews.com, listings of wifi availability, and so forth.

I use the Good Sam road atlas, which shows campgrounds identfied by little push-pins. I also use the Trailer Life Campground Book which provides details. That combination works well for us, especially since I have a competent co-pilot.

In addition to those already mentioned we like the Corps of Engineer booklet. C.O.E campgrounds also have free brochures available at their campgrounds listing their campgrounds available in each area. As far as on line websites go try CasinoCamper.com. Some Casino campgrounds are the nicest and most reasonably priced campgrounds that you can find anywhere, i.e. Coushatta Casino Resort in Kindeer, La.

We have a Good Sam Atlas which is helpful in times of no internet. Typically, however, I find my best information on campgroundreviews.com. From that site, I can search on a particular campground to get more information. We've been impressed by all of the ACOE sites and most recently, many county campgrounds.

We have always used Good Sam Atlas, but I will check out the campgroundreviews.com. Thanks for the post!

AAA Trip info
Have been AAA members for Decades.Use it for Eyeglass discount even. However the new AAA "Trip Tik's" are worthless. The original format was good the new format not! There Books might be helpful.

www.uscampgrounds.info is the latest and greatest supplement to our www.woodalls.com we've used for years. With these two you can locate everything from the five star private campgrounds to the "el cheapo" almost free camps includiing Corps of Engineer parks. We just finished our trip notebook for a month on the road out west using both of these references. Give em a try and good luck.
