Lightbulb Gas(pneumatic) telescoping table won't go down

Greetings, I just go my brand new Pottery Barn Special Edition a week ago and I'm loving it. However, this morning I noticed that my gas(pneumatic) telescoping table won't go down anymore.

Expected behavior: if I pull the level and push the table, the table goes down.

Actual behavior: pull the level and push the table, the table remains the same height (I believe it stuck in the max height).

I have tried to push quite hard, but the table just won't move at all. Any idea what could be the issue? Many thanks and Happy new year!!

When I took mine apart, I found that the shock section is 2 shocks with individual pistons. One was anchored at the bottom of the table leg and the other just under the table top. The interior sleeved sections shouldn’t cause the shocks to hang up.

The obvious things to look for are all 3 levers unlocked? Assuming this is the 3 section telescoping table leg.

Thanks. But my table is quite unique. Not sure if other AS models have this kind of table. So, I only have one level that is underneath the table top, nothing else.

Ok.., I just fixed it by sitting on it while keep the level engaged. Something was probable stuck at the highest level. Will be mindful not raise it all the way up in the future.

Thanks. Yea, it's perfect for me. Feel lucky AS started to make this model right before I decided to go full-time.

Glad you got it to go down. We had the same issue with ours and I sprayed some dry lube on the shaft and lowered it a few times. No issues since then.

You also have a single level telescoping table in the globetrotter?

davydliu, this is the pedestal that came with our GT. I’m not sure what a single level telescoping unit looks like compared to this. Perhaps one clamp?

Either way, lubrication will help the stickiness.

P.S.: Ignore the cushion in the photo; I was checking to see if one would fit like the newer GT’s.

We are having the opposite problem. PB 22 and it doesn’t want to lock at the top. When you push it all the way down, stays down to convert into sleeping setting. When raising it, locks in middle position as described in manual but when you let it all the way up it doesn’t lock. We keep pushing it down while eating.
