Full timing in San Diego? Possible to rent/lease land/lot rather than an rv spot.

Hi! I'm a newbie and searching for a 31' to buy, rebuild, then bring to San Diego to live in full time. We're moving there regardless and renting an apt is not ideal. Its very expensive! But is an rv space just as much $ ?! We are tiny house enthusiasts and a single couple. We look forward to less 'stuff'. So we have seen most if the rv parks that allow you to live there. Close quarters and maybe crime? So our dream is loosing its luster. Where to put our airstream? We know people find land or lots. There is a woman in Tucson AZ who has 10 airstreams on her land, or so I've heard! This would be fabulous. We need room to put a storage/utility trailer that we are to buy, for our bikes, surfboards and my jewelry workbench. Any leads on lot lease possibilities?
