Paradise Park in Punta Gorda. Its mostly an Airstream park. All the sights are privately owned although there are several for rent at very reasonable rates, ether month or season. Some sites have a Florida room, most have a utility shed that have a washer/dryer toilet and shower. The park is a bit off the beaten path but has great amenities including a very nice golf course. Lots of activities and wonderful people. We spent 4 months there last season and are going back this year.
You can check it out at Paradise Park Condominium Association Welcomes You To PPCA.US!

We will be in our 3rd year at Travelers Rest Resort in Dade City this winter. Used to be an Airstream only; now open to everybody with a good number of Airstreams left. Very nice setup. About 600 lots plus a section with cabanas plus a house section. Rec hall, pool, lots of social and professional entertainment, nice par 34 golf course, ponds, about $3000 a year. Age 50 and older and enough rules and restrictions to keep it nice. Very rural setting away from beaten path. Check their website. You can come try it and pay by the day or month. Late Jan and Feb you will need a reservation.

This will be our second winter (stay 3-5 weeks) in south Florida. We choose to stay in state parks which limit reservations to 14 days. The parks fill-up fast and reservations can be made 11 months in advance, but they have a liberal cancellation policy. Reservations can be made through the web site Reserve America. We stay a couple of weeks on the west coast and then move over to the east side with time in between in the Keys. Also Fort DeSoto near St Petersburg and Jetty Park near Cape Canaveral are county owned parks that get very good ratings that we will check-out this year. Both have web sites.
Good luck with your search!

Florida campgrounds

There are lots of them. It depends on what you want and are willing to pay. The first decision is east coast or west coast, lots of park activities and city nearby. I like the west coast and water activities. Others like golf and dances. You can even stay at Disneyland. Parks are pretty well filled Jan. through March, so reservations are necessary. Lots of material on all the campgrounds on line. Campsites toward the north are less costly with lesser features.
