Baja adventure

Hi Guys! We just joined the 30í bunkhouse club, we are beyond excited.

We are heading down the Baja in a month from Vancouver so we started a little travel blog on Instagram called bajaairstream happy to connect on that with anyone interested

Also, does anyone have a good portable setup for solar? We are new to the solar aspect and itís been recommended to get a portable system we can position better and throw in back of truck when not in use. Any recommendations would be great, we were looking for 400 watts or so. I donít really want to mount anything on the roof (more holes, harder to clean and position)

There are quite a few threads on solar here.

I have a 200 watt system with portable panels, cables and combiner box. I plan to add 2 more 100 watt panels. and change my 440 Amp hour AGM's to LiFePO4 batteries.

For me portable solar is the way to go. Park in the shade and put the panels in the sun. Easier to install, no panel mounting issues and you can easily adjust the panel angle for the Latitude and time of year for max charging.
There are pre-made solar Suitcase, plug and play options or more sophisticated on board hybrid type systems. What ever works best for your lifestyle.

On the other hand there is a security issue with portable systems and you are not charging while you are traveling and you don't have to pack, unpack and set up and tear down each time you move.
