Airstream as a rental

I am considering parking my 1972 31' Sovereign near our house, supplying power and city sewage, and renting it due to trouble I am having in re-selling it. It has been re-furbished, only lacks the central heat replaced and kitchen sink Tamboir doors. I have expensed about $9000 in it and can't get even get an offer at $6500 - what I originally paid for it.
So, would anyone have an idea what I might could rent it for (not for travel, but as a temporary residence). I understand that demand really sets the parameters. Has anyone ever rented out an older AS like this and would share their experience?

Location, location location

Scenic view, privacy, proximity to recreational water, are variables that will affect what you could rent it for. Folks that can't afford to purchase or rent a house won't be able to pay much, or always pay on time. I have friends that have had nightmares with renters because some people don't take care of something that isn't theirs. You might find someone who wants a very cool getaway, or someone that is looking for a bargain.
I would think that you could charge a pretty penny if you were to rent it for a vacation traveler. I would require them to pay for insurance, and leave a wad of cash with you. ( Or you could deliver it to a campsite, or festival for them )

You should definetly be looking at your current insurance policys and liability insurance what ever you decide to do.

Also you need to check local laws/ordinances. Where I you can't even stay in an RV on your own property, let alone have someone else stay in one on your property.

Thumbs up Hang in there!

Where have you listed if for sale? With spring coming, there are usually lots of people looking for nice vintage trailers...you may want to keep trying to sell it. Places to list:

AirStreamClassifieds
TinCanTourists
Local Papers...many other options, just put your thinking cap on! Take lots of pictures & describe it fairly...although, rarely, if ever will you get out of it what you put in it money-wise.
