A Thank You video for Full-timers First Anniversary...
Hi folks. Previously I had tried to attach a video to a post chronicling our first year as full-timers but it was too big to upload. Then, while I was trying to edit it and cut it into thirds, I accidentally deleted my iMovie project. AAAARRGGH! Fortunately for me I was able to find it on TimeMachine but only in mp4 form and not editable in iMovie. I wanted to make a few changes but alas, it is too much work for me to get it right.
There were several rainy days over the last month while we parked in the mountains of Oregon and California, and so I played around with putting our photos to song. I thanked our family and friends from back home and the new ones we met while on the road for helping us get ready and along the way. I thanked my late parents for instilling in me my love for travel and the great outdoors.
But then I thought, shoot, the people I really needed to thank were the ones here on this forum that gave us advice, information, and encouragement to jump the rat race. Every post and reply to our questions on this forum was used in our experience over the last year. Many mistakes and/or discoveries made by others were used to our advantage, replacing sweat equity earned over years of living in an Airstream.
I wanted to edit a closing credit in our video to give those thanks but I guess I'll just have to do it here. When people can step into someone's dream (ours) and take his or her hand, and say "yes" or "no" or "why don't you try this", well... those people need to be thanked. You know who you are out there and we say thank you. I also wanted to dedicate our travels and video to Maggie and Doug, who's spirit lives on in Maggie's posts. There are so many good people here and we're just glad to be a part of the Airstream "club".
(Note: I titled our video as an "Airstream Film" but was just playing around. This video has no connection to the Airstream company. Hopefully this won't get me into trouble.)
Here's the link to our video on YouTube:

How sweet!
Doug does live on.....in our hearts, in my posts, in my life and being that he was a part of for so long. I am fortunate to have had this good man who I miss so much.
You are so right, there are many good people here....and you are one of them.
Maggie

Great video!
I know you appreciate every day the privilege of being able to do this. I can read it in your posts and see it in this beautiful film you have put together.
May you have many more.

You're right Maggie. I'm not exaggerating when I say at some time every day this past year I said out loud, "I love this life!" Not of the things we do but the opportunity to do so.

Those parks will have to be added to my "bucket list".
How is the Tundra holding up? How many miles?

I hate creative people
My videos in my Zion trip thread are primitive.

Yeah, and I hate patient people who know how (and have time) to create something cool on a computer!

You will never be the persons you were a year ago. The enrichments of mother nature, animals, your fellow man, and the freedom to do so at your leisure are life and character changers. Many of only dream of such opportunities - good for you both and congratulations on your ability to share this with others with great affect. Very uplifting for me.

Jeff,
That was beautiful. TY for posting the video. Chasgail hits the nail on the head:
Life & character changers.
All the best to the two of you. Can't wait to do the same with my better half. Our time is coming.

Very, nice, very inspirational, very motivating.
Don't know if we'll ever fulltime but looking forward to the day when we can long time. Trying not to rush as all things in their time.
Particularly liked the pictures as we are in the west also. Seems just yesterday that you were starting out. I too will stand in a stream and catch my dinner some day.
Thank you so much for posting its a beautiful video, and cheers to the very inspiring Maggie and Doug and Maggie.
Looking forward to next years inspiration.
