Still a fan of anything that delivers instant oblivion. Drowning is a particularly nasty death for any mammal, rodent or no rodent. They swim until completely exhausted first.

You could try the bounce sheets in the fabreeze scent. The scent is far less but still does the trick.

I'm sorry, but in my book, cruelty to animals is one thing, but cruelty to vermin is quite another. I'd never drown a cat, but rats and mice…

Anyway, if you object to making them suffer, fill the bucket with cheap red wine instead of water (MD2020 or Thunderbird is fine). They'll still drown, but they'll die drunk.

Set a bunch of traps in bottom of bucket...or fill bottom of bucket with Trichlorethane, 111..

Add me to the Freshcab camp. Mothballs? No way. I think I'd rather smell dead poisoned mice.

what to do about mice

The mothballs are placed by the holding tanks, so you never smell moth balls in the trailer. The point is for the mice to smell the mothballs BEFORE the mice get into the trailer. They won't enter the trailer if they smell them in the belly of the trailer. wolf146

Yes. You can find them at Home Depot, I think.

All dryer sheets are NOT created equal....at least when it come to rodents.

You need to use DOWNY dryer sheets in the ORIGINAL SCENT.
Believe me on this.....I swear by them!

My ex-girlfiend also told me that the scent to her was the ultimate aphrodesiac. So I used to....ummmm.....I digress.....I'll save that story for another night......

...make them a little bed and set out food and water for them...
We have one zipping up and down the hall at the office right now.
I guess we will put a glue trap in his path...

Moth BALLS

I feel a Red Green moment coming on...

Why not get some duct tape and tape mothballs to the underside of the belly pan, steps, etc. - with small piercings in the tape to let the scent out easily. The inside of the trailer won't stink and the mothballs won't be lying on the ground for pets or children to ingest.

Of course you could get a small sack and hang them from the hitch ball - like bull balls but smaller!

Paula - the devil made me say it.

Not sure what's worse in our Airstream, Downy dryer sheets or mice.

That's easy. Downy dryer sheets don't build nests, eat, pee, poop, or breed. In other words, they are no fun at all. All they do is make one sock out of every pair disappear. Maybe they're unraveling the missing socks to knit mice?

Besides, it's hard to tell a story around the campfire about how your trailer is infested with those pesky Downy dryer sheets!

Dryer sheets may work for many of you but NEW YORK rodents are tough.

How tough are they Beer Snob?

New York rodents are SO TOUGH....they use dryer sheets for sweaters in winter.

Dryer sheets didn't work for me,,,,but, the peppermint oil on cotton balls and well placed moth balls around the exterior of the trailer...around tires...hitch...and glue traps under the sink,,,under the closet....seems to work quite well...
