What fittings do I need?
Ok, I am 4 hours away from my 31' 1979 International and am starting to think about winterizing it. I want to start winterizing it by blowing out the lines with my air compressor from the city water intake. My compressor has the standard quick on/off fitting at the end of the hose. What do I need to go from the quick on/off fitting on the compressor to the city water fitting on the trailer? I'm willing to make up a conversion hose as a connector between the two if needed.

How does the air compressor hook up to that fitting?

I got an air quick connect, then went over the plumbing aisle. I connected that to a stop valve, from there used a neck up nipple to a brass garden hose fitting. That way I can connect it directly to airhose and screw it into the water intake, and then use the valve to open the air into the system as needed.

Let me ask you this, is it a female or male fitting that the city water inlet expects? I suspect the city water connector on the trailer is female but without being at my trailer I'm not sure.

I made the same "blow out" attachement for out 1976 Overlander. I had the "quick connect" on the end of my air hose. I took one of my "quick connect" (female ) and went to our local hardware shop, I found a male hose bib to pipe thread fitting and I think that I only needed one fitting to join the female "quick connect" to the male hose bib fitting. The best part of this arrangment is you can screw in your hose bib and then connect to your compressor and not have to hold anything. After connecting just go in your trailer and open each faucet until you have mostly air. Depending on the size of your compressor you will have some times that you might have to wait until pressure builds back up.
Sorry about a photo, but our trailer is 3 hrs away...
Good luck!

I got setup at Home Depot today. I now have a connector made of four parts to go from quick connect to standard male garden hose that cost me $13.

Could you post a photo so I could get an idea of what I need to replicate? I have a small compressor that would probably do the job but I'm not familiar with the types of fittings available to put what you describe together.
Thanks, Tom AKA Minnie's Mate

My biggest challange is going to be keeping the snow blown away during the winter. I've had as much as 10' in my backyard, and we get several storms with more then 3' at once.
Thanks: Charlie
