Trip Planning: N-S November Trip

Total newbie here, picking up a Caravel in late July.

My wife and I have planned a trip to head south from Minnesota in November and see family in the Southeast.

I have a few questions about winterizing:

1. I plan on winterizing in mid-October when temperatures start cooling down. From there, we'll de-winterize and hit the road in mid-November. Does that check out with any northerners? What if I can leave it plugged in but outdoors?

2. Should we plan on winterizing on the road when we are northbound before we get back to Minnesota in late November/early December? Or will it be ok to winterize once we're back home and putting it away for the winter?

Anything I'm missing?

If you plan to winterize on the Northbound, be sure to of already purchased the Anti-freeze.

If you plan to buy the antifreeze in the warm southern climate where it likely never freezes as you begin the trip north, be prepared, it might be hard to find.

Places that never see freezing seem to not stock the good antifreeze......The kind with no alcohol.
