Storing inside barn with power for the winter

New AS owner here--just bought it in May. I live in central Texas and have relatively mild winters. I keep my AS in an insulated metal shop barn with 30 amp shore power always connected but the barn is not heated. It always feels warmer inside the barn than outside. Going into my first winter with my AS, I was wondering about the ability to simply leave my thermostat on 40 degrees if cold weather is coming. An alternative might be to plug in a small electric heater with a freeze protection on it. Would keeping the inside of the AS at 40+ degrees keep all the water lines from freeze damage? We rarely see temperatures colder than 25 degrees and they normally only last for a few hours.

Should be fine

Temp needs to stay below 32 for several hours to freeze water linea.

I would only heat it when the temp is going to drop into the 20's or lower. It won't hurt to drain the water heater and blow out the system with air. Also don't forget about the water pump inlet which can freeze. If you have it heated all the time, the rodents are going to nest in there.
