Question Question about storing outside?

In anticipation of buying an Airstream, my husband and I were concerned about hail. Here in Colorado we have frequent hail storms. If we buy the AS we are looking at it will be stored outside. We have put in a call to the storage place to see if they have a covered space available.

Our current trailer is fiberglass so unless the hail is golfball size or larger we have been ok.

What about the AS skin????

OH Hail !!

Thats a HAIL of a thing for momma nature to do to an Airstream!

Did you have any insurance coverage .... or was it considered
an "act" of nature and excluded ??

I dodged a good one when I was out last week near Louisville. The morning before we decided to go north to her mothers house and we left the farm. Well the farm got a little bit smaller than golfball size hail. Up north no hail.

I suppose if it's bad enough and has to be fixed, really the best place would be Jackson Center??

I hate to even think about it happening!!! I was on pins and needles during most of the evening that the storm was doing it's thing....

Wink Hail - Colorado

We too worried about hail, living in the Denver area.

Have you given any thought to storing it with someone in a mountain area? We were lucky to have friends in the Buena Vista area who are housing ours (now I think about mice!!) and the mountain areas are not known for hail. Plus we are able to get to the trailer in route to most camping areas that we frequent. Here is a quote from the Ft. Collins weather alert website:

In Colorado, hail is a regional problem.
It rarely hails in the mountains or on the Western Slope.
Hail severity increases as you go east from the Front Range foothills toward the Kansas border.

Just a thought. Later, Leigh
