My 1969 Airstream

I've inherited my Airstream from my deceased dad and need some help with winter use. I live in an area where frost is a problem in the winter and wonder how I should care for the water in my lines when the trailer isn't in use. I hope winteriizng all the lines is necessary after each use. I don't think I should leave the heater on since this runs on Propane. How about puting a space heater in the unit and pluging into 110. Please make a practical sugestion. Thank you

Depends on whether you are living in it or not...or having it close by. I know one thing, and that is to skirt it around the bottom if it is out side. But the link clarkego provides for you should tell you about filling the pipes with antifreeze. Sorry about your family loss---but really happy about your win. Welcome to the forums!

I drain the water tank, drain the gray water tank, drain the black water tank, drain the water heater, run some antifreeze down the drains, remove the shower hose, blow out the lines, remove the lines on the pump and run some antifreeze through the pump.

I don't add water again until summer. I had a motorhome in the 90's. I made a mid April trip to Arkansas and returned home the end of April. I didn't winterize when I got home and April 30th we had a winter blizzard and got 10" of snow. It froze up both tanks and broke the pump.

I could have stayed a month of first class hotel suites and left the RV home for the cost of the repairs alone.
