My own experience with blowing out lines has convinced me that antifreeze is the way to go. We had a Colorado summer home. When we would leave we always had it blown out, either by myself or professionally. Every Spring when we opened I had multiple repairs of the water lines to make. At retirement we moved there full-time. We bought our camper and I always winterize it with RV antifreeze. Never had a problem. I don't think a single winter went by when we didn't have temperatures of 10 below and colder.
It's sorta like Spock walks into the bar from Cheers and Cliff Claven strikes up a conversation with him, and then a few blokes from Monty Python chip in with irrelevant insights.
Occasionally enlightening, always entertaining.
