Leaving Fridge on Short Term Storage

We have been living and traveling full time for six months in our Airstream but now need to park it for 10 days to fly home for a short visit. I'd like to leave the fridge on propane while we are away. It will not be connected to shore power but we have plenty of solar and there will be enough battery to run the fridge fan etc. I can see the inherent risk in leaving anything unattended with propane hooked up, but I'm wondering what others have done or would suggest.

Thanks,

Dan

I wouldn’t think twice about it. I’ve run mine for weeks when I only had 15 amp power (driveway surfing). It is a very small flame, behind a plate, behind a door— a single 30# tank will last for months.

Shut off as much 12v as you can. If your batteries drift down powering parasitic loads, the reefer will shut down. For that reason, I would not power the fan — shouldn’t need it anyway as the reefer doors will not be opening several times a day.

But I would probably chuck any dairy[emoji16]
