Leave the suction tube on or remove

I had the quick connect to added a number of years ago to add anti freeze and it works great. However today as i was adding antifreeze a light when on inside my head and should I remove the tube and cap it or leave the suction tube attach.

Curious as to what others do

I had this set on my older trailer. Why would you want to remove the tube? There is a valve that switches back to your FW tank. Whether or not the tube stays attached has nothing to do with how the system functions. I might be missing something here but I would leave it in place for the next time.

I leave my attached and have a screw cap I put on the end. Keeps the tube from dribbling and anything getting into the tube.

Hi, I cap mine, but after using it for two years, I no longer need it. I blow out my lines, and everything else, and only put RV antifreeze in the traps. I'll leave it in for the next owner if there ever is one.

Never thought of this, so I leave mine attached. I do take out of bottle, hold up, with pump on to suck out any remaining fluid put finger hose end and open to pressurize slightly to suck again. Then shut off by-pass. I wipe off hose with paper towel. My thought is that don’t lose, if need again it is ready, and if by-pass closed no harm-no foul. You could cap hose end or rap with paper towel but I don’t. Now I will read other responses to see if I am wrong! Be Safe.

I remove the tube and place the cap onto the valve finger tight, enough to compress the rubber seal.
Doing this keeps critters from hiding/nesting in the valve opening, which keeps them and their byproducts out of the fresh water system.
