I checked on my winterized Airstream today...

We've had horrible wind storms and very cold weather in Colorado over the last few weeks. I'm sure you've all seen the news of the devastating fires in the Denver metro area that were driven by 100+ mph winds.

I went up to the storage facility to check on the Airstream and do a few little projects. When I opened the door, there were many small shards of broken glass on the floor in front of the oven. My heart sank when I saw it, wondering what could have broken. This was thin glass, almost like a light bulb had shattered.

I looked and looked for the source, and then I finally found it. My wife likes to collect refrigerator magnets of various shapes and sizes from locations that we visit, and stick them on the top of the vent hood. One of these magnets was a little snow globe with a moose inside from Ouray, CO. I never thought about it, but apparently it got cold enough to freeze the globe and it shattered. Aside from that, the wind had obviously rocked the trailer a bit. The dinette pillows had fallen down from the shaking. Otherwise everything was great.

I never thought I had to winterize my refrigerator magnet, but lesson learned.

Oh, the irony. Cold enough to freeze a snow globe.
