All six 4x6 support posts are set and most of the two support beams for the 36’ Airstream port have been built.

Very nice work Dan. You are going to love having both protected from the rain and snow.

I was all set to start building the roof trusses for the 36’ Airstream port, then I decided to make a change in the design. I decided I wasn’t happy with the look of the Airstream port from the front or the rear. I just didn’t like the look of the roof trusses with the mending plates visible. I wanted more of a timber frame look so I decided to remove the front and rear 2x4 roof trusses and install trusses made from treated pine 4x4. This was only possible since I had not installed the metal roof yet (fortunately). It was a lot of work and lifting and installing the 4x4 treated pine by myself was difficult, but I am very happy with the new look. I will probably add a couple more short pieces of 4x4 to the design later. Here are some photos.

Wow, what a difference. Looks great with the 4x4 timber frame look!
